The Cat certified rebuild program incorporates the very latest technology and critical engineering updates into your machine at a fraction of the cost of buying new. A HOLT CAT custom rebuild includes many of the same upgrades as a Cat certified rebuild but provides the flexibility to be customized to meet your specific needs.

2. HOLT CAT Custom Rebuild

A HOLT Custom Rebuild allows the customer to tell us what exactly they would like to have rebuilt or repaired.

HOLT’s Custom Rebuild process can restore your machine’s original productivity and reliability, and may cost more or less than a Cat Certified Rebuild. To ensure original productivity and low operating cost, many components and systems are restored following Cat parts reusability guidelines. A HOLT Custom Rebuild provides an economical way to update your equipment fleet and keep it all Cat.

One example is a Power Train Rebuild that does not include rebuilding the transmission or torque converter, but includes a new paint job and tires. Custom Rebuilds can include a complete Power Train Rebuild plus the following at an additional cost:

What are the repair indicators?

Planned indicators are more difficult to detect and respond to, however they have the greatest impact on managing operating costs, avoiding machine or component failure. HOLT CAT will look at your machine’s maintenance and service records as well as hours of operation to determine the right timeline for a machine or power train rebuild in order to avoid a catastrophic failure.

Problem indicators such as metal filings on a magnetic plug, transmission slippage, overheating and excessive oil consumption indicate an impending, costly after-failure repair. These indicators include Scheduled Oil Sampling (SOS) and coolant analysis results, excessive fuel consumption and high service hours.

3. Power Train Rebuild
Caterpillar Certified Power Train Rebuild & HOLT Power Train Rebuild Options

The Cat Certified Power Train rebuild process starts with a complete Power Train inspection. The Power Train is completely disassembled and rebuilt.

All critical engineering updates and improvements are included in the replacement or reconditioning of approximately 3,000 parts. Approximately 200 tests and inspections ensure the same high level of quality you expect from a new Caterpillar Power Train. The Caterpillar Certified Power Train Rebuild program covers the engine, transmission, radiator, torque converter, transfer gear box, universal joints and drive shafts, differentials, final drives, brakes, Power Train electrical switches, sensors and sending units plus all Power Train electronic control modules and software including a new engine wiring harness.

4. HOLT Power Train Rebuilds follow Caterpillar rebuild guidelines but may not include all Caterpillar engineering updates.
